Category: Dramedy

Favorite Character: Olive.

Favorite Side Character: N/A

How Long It Took Me To Watch It: 1 week.

Why I Chose It: After finishing Dead Like Me, I wanted to explore Bryan Fuller shows. Also, tumblr.

My Thoughts: I didn’t like it as much as the other 2 shows by the same creator I have seen. The colors were annoyingly bright. The story lines didn’t appeal to me as much. But it was worth watching for all the awkward Ned fidgets.

#16: TV Show Review #8: Bob’s Burgers

Show: Bob’s Burgers

Category: Comedy

Stars: H. Jon Benjamin, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, John Roberts, Kristen Schaal

Status: Season 4 Just ended

Network: Fox

Favorite Character: Louise.

Favorite Side Character: Andy and Ollie.

How Long It Took Me To Watch It:A Few Months.

Why I Chose It: I have a friend who told me to watch it a while back.

My Thoughts: God, this show is hilarious. It is ridiculous and raunchy. It is everything I want in a show. The episodes are short and self-contained, so it wasn’t a big deal if I went a while without watching. I didn’t lose major plot arcs.

#16: TV Show Review #7: Dead Like Me

Show: Dead Like Me

Category: Fantasy Dramedy? I guess?

Stars: Ellen Muth, Callum Blue, Jasmine Guy, Cynthia Stevenson, Mandy Patinkin, Britt McKillip

Status: #twoseasonsandamovie

Network: Showtime

Favorite Character: Mason.

Favorite Side Character: Kiffany.

How Long It Took Me To Watch It: 1 week.

Why I Chose It: I recently rewatched Hannibal and decided I wanted more of Bryan Fuller’s dark comedy loveliness in my life (I found pushing daisies as well). I also found the second season for 3 bucks at work, so that didn’t hurt the cause.

My Thoughts: I don’t even know where to start with this one. I loved that each member of the reaper family was fleshed out. I understood (at least kind of, which is better than in most shows) the motivations of the characters. I loved that every episode made me laugh out loud at least once. I love Mason.  I didn’t really care for the narration. I don’t usually like it in shows anyway, but it was excessive in DLM.

#16: TV Show Review #6: Warehouse 13

Show: Warehouse 13

Category: Sci-Fi

Stars: Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly, Saul Rubinek, Allison Scagliotti, Genelle Williams, Aaron Ashmore, CCH Pounder

Status: Ended after 5 seasons.

Network: SyFy.

Favorite Character: Claudia. All day, every day.

Favorite Side Character: Claire. And HG Wells.

How Long It Took Me To Watch It: 2 weeks.

Why I Chose It: It has been on my list for a while. I just can’t resist good episodic science fiction, not the convoluted arcs. I finally decided to watch it, because it was ending.

My Thoughts: It often ran a little close to cheesy, but the show had so much heart it is insane. I loved the team dynamics (before that series finally ruined it all, ugh). I liked that, for a solid 4 seasons, the romantic relationships weren’t a plot device. There isn’t enough TV shows in my opinion that have characters with chemistry that they don’t push together, which I was hoping was what was going to happen with this show… but whatever.

I like the bits of history infused into the show. I liked that they had a gay character without making every single facet of his life being that he is gay. I love every single bit of Claudia.
